Cũng như nhiều đơn vị tính không giống (ngày tháng, thời gian, tiền tệ, …), đơn vị chức năng đo trên Ruler trong Word 2010 phụ thuộc vào ngôn ngữ (language) cùng vùng (region) được chọn mang đến hệ điều hành quản lý Windows.Thông thường đơn vị đo mặc định là Inch (in).Trong các trường hợp, họ muốn chuyển đơn vị đo này thành Centimeters (cm) nhằm dễ giám sát hơn. Quá trình làm sẽ như sau:
1. Lựa chọn File để mở Backstage
2. Lựa chọn Options nhằm mở vỏ hộp thoại Word Options
3. Chọn Advanced
4. Kéo xuống phần Display
5. Biến hóa giá trị của “Show measurements in units of” thành Centimeters
6. Ok.
